I tried to add a test user <adduser,
SMBadduser> and as far as the linux box was concerned, It was fine, but the
Win98 box kept giving me "Incorrect Password" Samba's log agreed with "Invalid
Username/Password" on several lines.
Then Samba and NMB stopped working all together,. I
finally "woke" Samba up,. though it start very slowly (about 2 mins) but NMB
doesn't budge. Of course it might as well not be there since I can do anything
connectivity wise. I went thought the DIAGNOSIS>txt and can Ping both ways,
but still SMB and NMB don't want to work. I even tried removing and re
installing them (RPM version) to no avail.
Imp thinking it has something to do with a
connection (or lack thereof) with the netbios ports, but I cant find any
evidence to prove or deny this. Any Suggestion as where I can look would be
helpful.
I even tried several methods of reinstalling, but
for some reason my PC wont boot from the CD even though is set up like that in
the BIOS.
TY for any suggestions
