My bad Johan.  I had assumed that Samba could do it with LDAP and AD
integration.  I've not done it myself, I just assumed the capability was there
already.

That's not quite as kludgy, but still less than elegant.

I've never had luck with that, but I'm not that familiar with the Samba winbind
tweaks.  Maybe one of the devs or experienced OPs will have a clue on how to
best do this.
