Does smbpasswd just not work as a user with NTLMv2? Is this documented anywhere? The problem is that I'm trying to test unix password sync and don't have a windows box. Running smbpasswd as root or using pdbedit update the database directly and do not rely on the client/server mode. Is there another way to test unix password sync using NTLMv2 and no windows box?
