As per Klaus Kreuzwieser's suggestions (5/12/2010) I tweeked my configure.sh

However, when I compile samba 3.5.2 with sunfreeware gcc 3.4.6, blastwave
gcc 4.x or blastwave gcc 3.x I get the following error on make:
Compiling smbd/server.c

Current master has a fix for that:

You might try it.
Volker
That did fix it.
Samba 3.5.2 compiled- unfortunately I still seem to have issues with
shared library support. "--enable-shared" option will cause the
compile to fail. Which isn't a show stopper in itself. However,
nsswitch and vfs_acl also fail to compile- and those are essential.
But since Samba 3.5.3 is out I might give that a try.
Thanks
