[Samba] Samba 3 to samba 4

I am in progress of retiring a pair of PDC/BDC with win2000 and changing 
to a couple with samba, running on a debian/linux/squeeze
Such distribution propose me samba 3.4 .
Can i make the thing with 3.4 or is better i backport 4 ????
Wat is easier ?
