is that name in DNS? How about WINS? What if you use ip addy instead of NetBIOS machine name?
In <smb.conf> [globals] section: workgroup = SOHNEN-MOE netbios name = SMA-STN14L Adding the -I option made no difference. The firewall port is open. There is nothing in </var/log/messages>. There is nothing in </var/log/samba/log.*>.
