That would be incorrect.

The one that I am intimately familiar with IBM's GPFS uses it's own special VFS layer. Given that GPFS holds real creation times and real windows attributes for files, in addition to doing NFS v4 ACL's it is pretty sweet for using with Samba when using the GPFS VFS module.
