I found the following:

samba (2:3.5.8~dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=low
  * New upstream release. This fixes the following bugs:
    - Winbind leaks gids with idmap ldap backend (upstrem #7777)
      Closes: #613624

Upgraded to:

# winbindd --version
Version 3.5.11

Hopefully this will fix my issues.
