To allow everyone to join your domain you can use this in your smb.conf (got this idea from Art):
add user script = sudo /usr/sbin/adduser -n -g machines -c Machine -d /dev/null -s /bin/false %m$
With this you will give rights to everyone to create users, I think it's a little dangerous and you'll still have to manage the machine accounts created by the users.
