My advise is to split the Samba PDC functionality from whatever other services are stuck on this end-of-life host, and run the Samba PDC on another box. Then you can build either a classic Samba domain or a Samba AD domain using Samba 4.0 from there. There is no need and little good reason to share a host, particularly such an old host, between a Samba DC and other services.
