Hey Mike, The samba-tool was already working for me, but your suggestions did inspire improved trouble-shooting. After I set the password for my ldap-created test user using the samba-tool, I was able to log on. Enabling the account proved unnecessary.
So something is wrong with the way I am storing up the user's password. I'll dig around some more, but if anyone knows where I might find accurate documentation on how to properly store a Samba4 user's password via LDAP, I'd appreciate the link.
