Hi, there!
Right now i have a Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 64bit KVM machine running samba 4.0.0
(used as AD domain controller) that was build from source right after 4.0.0
stable was released. It's working pretty stable (a couple of times had to
restart samba because of service just stopped working unexpectedly).Right now i
see that there is a 4.0.5 version, that has to be more stable than 4.0.0.Tried
to compile and install it, but with no luck :(I read upgrading-samba4.txt
before trying to upgrade../configure --enable-debug --enable-selftestmake -j
4make install/usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool dbcheckWith compiling and
installing everything goes pretty smooth, but after starting samba - there is
only three instances in process list and nothing's working:root 1275 1262
 0 11:12 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/samba/sbin/samba -Droot 1269 1263
0 11:12 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd --option=server role
check:inhibit=yes --foregroundroot 1279 1269 0 11:12 ? 00:0
 0:00 /usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd --option=server role check:inhibit=yes
--foreground
Is there some special instruction of how to upgrade samba4 from source?! I read
upgrading-samba4.txt before trying to upgrade. Thanks in advance!
kind regards,Martins
