We had this problem too in a lab setting. The issue for us was large My Documents, Application Data, and Desktop directories. You said your profile is 800k -- is that the NTUSER.DAT registry hive or does that including all the folders that roam as well? My guess is that the roaming special folders are quite large. If this is the case, let me know and I can give you some pointers on some ways to speed things up.
