This is redhat-specific :-)

The goal is to make the ldap-users available to the system.

This is normally done by the pam_ldap and the nss_switch-packages.

Maybe Suse has another Tool for this - if not - you have to identify
and install these packages.

Look at the files /etc/nsswitch.conf and /etc/libnss-ldap.conf
(that are the names on my debian-box :-))
