I have the PDC acting as a wins server and have entered the ip address the the PDC into the wins configuration box on the windows 2k system. Windows 2k pings the linux server fine and I can connected to the linux PDC from windows in a broswer if I type in the IP address and provide a valid username and password.
I have successfully established PDC's in the past with W2k and as far as I can tell, I have followed the same procedure here. Sometimes a logfile
is generated in /var/log/samba/windows.log after an attempt to join the domain, and sometime not.
