Change security = server Point server to your WIN pdc / AD Also you need to modify /etc/passwd and put the usernames in there. If the users have the same username in UNIX and Windows logon no problem if not you can add their windows names to /etc/passwd with the same UIDs as their UNIX ones. Hope this works for you If someone has anything better please share Thanks -----Original Message----- From: Hooton, Gerard [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 2:21 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [Samba] authentication dialog box Hello all, I have Samba installed on a Solaris 8 system. When I try to connect from a WIN XP client I get an authentication dialog box With the user name Guest. Three is no apparent way of changing to another user. What must I do so that I can login as any valid user?
