The partition is a FAT32 Partition.
The error message says it all! You have mounted a FAT32 partition. It is mounted with the credentials of a particular user and group. You can not change this. FAT32 has no concept of being owned by a user or group. If you want the ability to change that then you must use a file system other than FAT. - John T. > > > Now as tim from my windows xpbox I can browse the Linux Software share but jon can > not! > > I have jon in the domadm group, the share is browseable...what am I missing? > > I love Samba - but I really need to nail down how I'm going to implement permissions > on directories and files! > > Tim > --------- > To unsubscribe, send email to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > with 'unsubscribe' in the message body. > > > > -- John H Terpstra Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba
