[Samba] No automated network interface determination, no seteuid method available

I'm trying to compile Samba 3.0.0 ("./configure", no parameters) on 
Slackware 8.0.0 (Linux 2.4.19 SMP) using gcc version "2.95.3 20010315 
(release)".
