Dear all, we just changed the samba server from rh 7.3 with samba 2.0.10 to rh 9 with samba 2.2.7. The old server worked well with WinNT and XP-Workstations, but after the change the new server was present in the network environment but when we tried to open it the error message "network path not found" appeared. With a XP-Workstation the new configuration works well.
(the configuration of the old smb.conf was copied to the new version and then SWAT 2.7 created a new smb.conf on the new server and somehow included the old smb.conf configurations) Does anyone has an idea, why NT has the comunication problem with the new samba-server and XPprof has not. And why did all work well under rh7.3 and the old samba. Nothing else has been changed in the network. Thank you.
