AFAIK, Samba-3 does not need those files anymore. Have you gotten rid of the old Samba-rpms already? If no, remove Samba-3 with $ make uninstall then remove Samba-2 with something like $ rpm -e samba-client.rpm $ rpm -e samba-server.rpm Check any remains with $ rpm -qa | grep samba $ rpm -qa | grep smb Then reinstall Samba-3: $ make install -- How much data do you have on that Samba-server? -- best regards, Stefan G.
