If you are having porblems building Samba 3.0 on Solaris such as

No output written to bin/smbd ~ collect2: ld returned 1 exit status ~ gmake: *** [bin/smbd] Error 1
Make sure that /usr/ucb follow /bin/ & /usr/bin in your PATH. (this also seems to be the root of bug 374 as well).
