Vegeta, I had problem while adding windows 2000 machine to domain with ou=Computer. As per John advice I moved computer account to ou=People tree after that I was able to join 2000 machine to domain.
My configuration: SuSE 8.2 samba-3.0.2pre1-1 ( with ldapsam) smbtools for account management.
