Hello List, i have plans to migrate a samba 2.2 PDC (with LDAP backend) to samba 3.0. I'm using a software that uses the SID to authenticate users to let the users use this. When i install samba 3.0, how about the SID. Can i migrate the existing SID's too? I read about the RID, thats existing in the LDAP schema of samba 2.2. One documentation said, that this will be replaced with the ntSid. Is this right? What will be the best way to take the actual SID's?
