Hi Jeremy,
firstly it shouldn't make any difference if the LDAP server is on the same
physical machine as Samba (with the exception of any performance limitations imposed
by the network speed). The schema is an easy one, if you extract the source for Samba
3.x you'll find a schema file for Sun DS 4 & 5 in "samba3.x/examples/LDAP". I have
SunONE DS 5.2 working with Samba 3.0.2 without problems, though I am only using the
idmap LDAP backend and I haven't implemented SSL. Hope thats of some help,
