We successfully joined the NetApp to the samba domain.
What we had to do:
create a computer account manually and fake the SAM account (add the computer by script to the domain). Then when joining the NetApp to the domain it just overwrites the Machine Password in LDAP and everything is fine.
Still one problem remains:
When trying to access the NetApp with the NT-computermanager it says access denied. I can access and control the Linux Server my Samba is on without any trouble and also all other computers in the network.
Has anyone an idea what that could be?
I tried to start the usermanager using root and Administrator, no success so far...

Hi!
I have the following config: RedHat ES 3 Samba 3.0.2a with OpenLDAP 2.0.27
Everything works fine having Samba setup as a PDC. But when trying to join a (brand new) NetApp F810 to the domain I get an error: "Could not create authentication pipe".
I really would need help asap ;)
Thanks Tom
