It doesn though.  The first thing to check is to make
sure that the printer information (i.e. devicemode, etc...)
has been initialized on the server.  See the Samba HOWTO pdf
for details.

A network trace is a very good idea.  First try the
suggestion above and then get a waw capture file for me
if the print preview still fails.
