We have our 2.2.8a network functioning, well with the standard smbpasswd backend. Lately people have started getting messages about their password expiring. I haven't seen anyplace in this version that a person can enforce password aging. One person has changed their password and then it stopped, I believe that if I change their (samba) password on the server it stops as well. Password aging is not enabled on the UNIX accounts either.

We really don't want people changing their samba password yet, as passwd sync isn't enabled for several reasons, not the least of which is that we do a lot of authenticating with LDAP and this is seperate. Once we get to Samba3 we may actually use this feature, but for now I can't do that upgrade and don't want people to change their password willy nilly.

Has anyone seen this and found a way to get the machines to stop complaining about expiring passwords?
