Well...
It worked for me.
Only thing I had to do was to add
writeable = yes
for each share.
IMHO there is a slight difference since 3.0.3, not 1.9 ;)
It would be nice to mention it in changelog too.

Sorry Jeff. But 'read only = yes' has been the
default for as long as I can remember (back to 1.9).
