I found that I needed to then change the permissions after copying the profile; In windows XP I changed the profile to allow everyone full access. After copying the profile to ./netlogon/Default User it worked great.
When using the WinXP-Tool to copy a profile from one user to another user, the copy of the profile was not accessible. The new User on the client only got the default profile
