I think it will as long as it is set up in smb.conf (see below). Try it out yourself with your account. I think it is these entries:
encrypt passwords = Yes obey pam restrictions = Yes pam password change = Yes passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u passwd chat = *New*UNIX*password* %n\n *ReType*new*UNIX*password* %n\n unix password sync = Yes Sincerely, Matthew J.
