I've seen this mentioned in the past, but no solutions were suggested. When I attempt to configure --with-pam the following is produced on Solaris 8.
configure:5625: checking security/pam_modules.h usability configure:5634: gcc -c -O -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 conftest.c >&5 In file included from configure:5662: /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:17: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:24: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:31: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:38: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:45: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:59: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:71: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:74: error: parse error before '*' token /usr/include/security/pam_modules.h:83: error: parse error before '*' token configure:5637: $? = 1 This prevents the use of PAM.
