| For the time being I let both in the smb.conf (passwd backend = tdbsam, | smbpasswd).
The lynch pin here is the secrets.tdb file. This is where the SID is stored. The SID is generated by smbpasswd. If you have the old one, you can retrive the SID from it. If you don't, you can try and see if it is in /etc/samba/smbldap_conf.pm It this is also a bust you can try and fake by setting them all to something that looks like an SID.
