netbios disable = Yes/yes 
both don't work. smbd still haunting on TCP 139.

I am using generic samba-3.0.3-5 supplied in Fedora 2.

Any more clues?

disable netbios = Yes

This works for me... smbd only listens on port 445/tcp.
