The way I do it is as follows:
1) Navigate to the "Printers and Faxes" share on the server
2) Right-click on the printer you want to load drivers for
3) Select "properties"
4) Dismiss the dialog which states that you need to load drivers
5) Select the "Advanced" tab
6) Click the "New Driver..." button and load the driver
