We've reported a bug in XP sp2 rc2 to MS wither regards to the print change notify code. It was triggering a crash in smbd (our fault) by doing a notify operation incorrectly (ms's fault).
This was reproduced using Samba 3.0.x. I think the same code exists in the 2.2.x tree.
