I solved it by creating a "local port" in the printers folder on xp sp2 client (don't browse thru Network!), attaching this port to the UNC-Path on my Samba 3.07 Server, e.g. \\linuxsrv\hp_laserjet1150. Then install your printer , put it on file: or lpt1: during installation. Now point this printer to the local port. From this moment, it worked flawless.
