I've never tried AFS just CODA filesystem (for fun) some year ago; CODA worked fine (it was a little bit instable; Linux Server + a few Linux clients)
AFS is more stable than CODA; last month I read some interesting articles about AFS; they were written on Italian magazine that does about Linux (Linux & C). In AFS (www.openafs.org) there's a windows port; you'll try and don't care... remember: AFS must be works up kerberos.
