The real problem (according to Fedora) is when you try to 'browse the network' (use the samba client) from a FC3 box with the *default* firewall turned on. Not run a server, that appears to work fine (again according to bugzilla) provided you either turn off the firewall or add the needed rules. In this case, apparently turning off the firewall is a workable workaround.
