Hi,
I have problem with Samba 3.0.8 (Debian package 3.0.8-2). After start or restart I can look all computers (Windows XP stations). After a half hour all Windows XP with SP2 are invisible. You can connect them by \\computer_name, but to unhide you must restart Samba.
Samba settings:
panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d
workgroup = workgroup_name
server string = %h server (Samba %v)
invalid users = root
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 1000
syslog = 0
encrypt passwords = true
passdb backend = smbpasswd guest
socket options = TCP_NODELAY
local master = yes
os level = 65
preferred master = yes
wins support = yes
dns proxy = yes
name resolve order = wins lmhosts host bcast
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
passwd chat = *Enter\snew\sUNIX\spassword:* %n\n *Retype\snew\sUNIX\spassword:* %n\n .
obey pam restrictions = yes
Any suggestions?
