Add:
wins support = Yes (Unless you have an NT wins server. Then
you want to use wins server = w.x.y.z)
enhanced browsing = Yes
thanks, that did it. as well as the password....had set it to No for testing and
forgot to set back....likely caused more of a problem then i had in the first place.
dns proxy = No
hosts allow = 192.168.2., 192.168.102., 127.

this was set, testparm just does not show
create mask = 0765
