I did /not/ solve the problem as yet -- I am still waiting for someone to address the issue. I don't really know what could be causing it, but I know it did not occur on my test system (less secure because it is less important, and also a fresh install).

Was yours also an upgrade like mine, or just a fresh install? It is clearly not platform specific, as mine is HP-UX. Maybe the network?

I'm stuck, though, and it's holding me up somewhat as some of the trust functionality does not seem to work in this mode.

Related, I think, may be the machine's inability to determine its own IP address with rpcclient.

Dear Ryan Novosielski

I'm experiencing more or less the same problems you had at the beginning of December. But my setup is samba-3.0.5 over linux.

beatrice:/home/install# net rpc trustdom list Password: Trusted domains list:

none

Trusting domains list:

[2004/12/23 15:51:19, 0] rpc_client/cli_pipe.c:rpc_api_pipe(424)
cli_pipe: return critical error. Error was Call timed out: server did not respond after 10000 milliseconds
[2004/12/23 15:51:19, 0] utils/net_rpc.c:rpc_trustdom_list(3346)
Couldn't enumerate accounts. Error was: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL

How did you solve this issue? I wasn't able to find how it ended.
