Hi all, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but the binaries of release 3.0.12 are not stripped after 'make'.
I can reproduce this on Sun Solaris 8 and debian testing. On Solaris ~1.1GB are in the source directory after configure/make on debian ~670MB. $ ls -lh bin/ total 731M ... -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 49M Mar 22 13:52 smbcacls -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 37M Mar 22 13:48 smbclient -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 27M Mar 22 13:50 smbcontrol -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 90M Mar 22 13:43 smbd -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 48M Mar 22 13:51 smbpasswd -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 35M Mar 22 13:49 smbspool -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 26M Mar 22 13:50 smbstatus -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 36M Mar 22 13:50 smbtree -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 54M Mar 22 13:46 swat -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 1.3M Mar 22 13:50 tdbbackup -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 675k Mar 22 13:51 tdbdump -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 687k Mar 22 13:51 tdbtool -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 24M Mar 22 13:50 testparm -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 24M Mar 22 13:50 testprns -rwxr-x--- 1 root other 60M Mar 22 13:47 winbindd 'make install' tried to copy 1.1GB to my /local fs, which ran out of space. I used the same configure options as with 3.0.11 and before. If I strip the binaries manually they have the expected size. See bug #2515. Am I the only one with this problem, I couldn't find anything on the ML.
