Today I've been asked if an hp business inkjet 1200 is "compatible with Linux" (what that actually means is if it's possible to install drivers on the server for point&click printing), this time *before* actually buying the printer.
I downloaded the driver here

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software5/COL8907/bi-23649-2/bi1203sp.exe

and I have the same problem, so I advised *not* to buy this printer, but I fear most newer drivers have this issue.
