[Samba] rpmbuild --rebuild vs makerpms.sh

I made rpms for Fedora Core 1 by using "rpmbuild --rebuild" on the ".src.rpm" file that is in the Fedora section of the samba download area.
Are my results the same as they would be if I downloaded the tar file and ran the packaging/Fedora "makerpms.sh" script? Is one way preferred?
