I'm really in need of assistance with these permissions. Can someone

When I create a new file called Bp\ Fellay\ --\ Benedcit\ XIV.incd* in a
directory called jobs/1--Active\ Jobs/August\ 2005/
drwsrws--- 12 stownshend prepress 368 2005-07-27 15:14 jobs/
drwsrws--- 15 stownshend prepress 512 2005-08-03 17:49 1--Active\ Jobs/
drwsrws--- 2 stownshend prepress 704 2005-08-05 12:17 August\ 2005/
Bp\ Fellay\ --\ Benedcit\ XIV.incd* gets the following permissions.
rwxr--r-- 1 stownshend prepress 67068 2005-08-05 12:14 Bp\ Fellay\
--\ Benedcit\ XIV.incd*
Why is this happening?
