I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the errors have
"almost" stopped. Before making this change I was getting about 16 of
these errors (Connection reset by peer) in bursts 30 minutes apart.
After applying this, I have had 2 errors total in about 2 1/2 hours, so
thats quite an improvement. (Why did this fix work, btw?)
The interesting thing is when I applied this (by making the change to
smb.conf, and then doing a "service smb restart" on the FC3 box that is
the server) I got the following in the /var/log/messages. It looks
serious (PANIC) but things appear to be working and I haven't had any
users yelling at me yet.
