We have a few applications which are still 16bit (running on Win2k clients), and since moving some user data from NT4 to Samba, users have encountered the unpredictable filename mangling issue, where "New Folder" appears as " NUJRHW~7". Users use 8.3 filenames when working in these programs, but often have folders with long filenames that are now unrecognizable.
Is there any workaround for this, aside from renaming all the folders? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Shawn Wright, I.T.
