no, you don't need to remove the entry.

normally it will be "overwritten" when the workstation with the same name (that is, your newly installed workstation) joins the domain.

in your smb.conf?

it's:

add machine script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-useradd -t 30 -w '%u'


the -t 30 option there is because Samba servers are not on the same machine as OpenLDAP master (which is far away over WAN/VPN); this option is also available in newer version of smbldaptools I think (>0.90 ?).
