Hi,

I have installed Samba on AIX 5.3 as per the document on
http://us3.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/AIX/README.

Everthing worked well and I was able to connect to the shared directory
  from an Windows 2003 machine.
I now want to stop the smdb, nmbd processes from the command line.
Although, I can start the processes from the command line (basically a
script),
but I do not know how to stop the processes ( apart from kill -HUP smdb etc.)
as there is no file in /etc/inet directory that can be used for this purpose
as I have installed
binaries for AIX which have installed only in /opt.
Unfortunately commands such as pkill, killproc are not working on my system.

Basically I want a auto start/stop mechanism for Samba 3.0.21c on AIX 5.3.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Thanks,
  rte
