Do you have a bit more info about what you *exactly* mean by "lease based exclusive locking protocol"? Samba fully supports share modes (exclusive locks at open time), oplocks (permissions to cache data) and Windows byte range locks. Where possible we try our best to communicate those to the underlying posix, but this is very limited.
